A two-week photo expedition with my daughter through the northwest U.S.was an incredible delight. After a few days in Bozeman, MT, we wandered through Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon with no specific plan. Unencumbered by s schedule, we'd stop and take pictures for as long as we liked when lighting and subject material presented itself. Such was the case with this horse. Glimpsing it and the dramatic sky from a distance, I drove about 20 miles out of our way to get a closer view. We spent about an hour shooting pictures of this and other horses in a field with no surrounding distractions like electrical wires, buildings, roads, etc. A great reminder that patience and persistence can pay off in photography!
